Bibi-ka-Maqbara

A mausoleum in memory of the wife of Aurangzeb

Bibi-ka-Maqbara, literally meaning 'Lady's tomb,' was built between 1657 and 1661 in memory of Aurangazeb's wife Begum Rabia Durani. The mausoleum, a replica of the famous Taj Mahal, has not been made of white marble but is covered in plaster to resemble marble. It stands in a walled area of 137,000 square metres. The monument is an excellent example of Moghul architecture.
