Balaghat Range is a series of hills in western
Maharashtra. It stems from the
Western Ghats at the Harishchandra Range and extends southeastward for about 320 km to the border of Maharashtra and
Karnataka states. The width of the range varies from 5 to 9 km. With the elevations of 1,800 to 2,700 ft, the Balaghat hills are higher in the west and slowly diminish eastward.
