Badnapur




Badnapur taluk in Jalna District is situated on the right bank of the river Dudhna. It lies between 19° N latitude and 75° E longitude. It is historically important as the meeting place of General Wellesley and Colonel Stevenson, where the plan of operations for attacking the Marathas two days before the battle of Assaye was finalised. An important landmark here is the dargah of Mir Gulam Shah. The place is accessible both by road and railway.

Aurangabad Chikalthan Airport is nearest, around 40 km from Badnapur. There are railway stations at Badnapur and the district headquarters Jalna.
