Jatara




Jatara is the administrative headquarters of the taluk bearing the same name, in Tikamgarh District of Madhya Pradesh. It is about 40 km north-east of Tikamgarh on the Tikamgarh-Ranipur road.

This town lies below the level of Madan Sagar Lake, which retained by two dams of great length. These dams were constructed by the Chandella Chief Madan Varman (1129-67).

The major points of attraction are many Muhammadan buildings built in the Mughal style. Excursions to Palera, Bamori and Ladhaura will be an enchanting experience.

By road, Jatara is linked with Tikamgarh, Baldeogarh and Prithvipur.
