Chhindwara




Chhindwara, the headquarters of the Chhindwara District, is situated on the Bodri Stream, a tributary of the Kulbehra River. It lies in the heart of Satpura valley, at an altitude of 677 m, and is bordered by ranges of low hills. Chhindwara is around 220 km south-east of Bhopal.

This small hilly town is noted for its scenic beauty and natural heritage. Patalkot, Tribal Museum, Chota Mahadev Cave, Devagarh Fort, Nadadwari, Hot Water Spring at Anhoni and the Radhadevi Caves are the major tourist destinations.

Nearest airport is at Nagpur. Chhindwara Junction Railway Station is a major railhead of South Eastern Madhya Pradesh. Betul is around 100 km west of Chhindwara.
