Thanjaoor Ammaveedu




Thanjaoor Ammaveedu is a beautiful wooden building constructed by Swathi Thirunal for Sugandha Valli, the Maharaja’s mistress. The building located at Vellanad in Thiruvananthapuram has two courtyards and the entire structure is characterised by elaborate wood carvings. Thanjaoor Ammaveedu, once the place of music and dance, exists even today as a store house of mysteries and stories.

Trivandrum International Airport is the nearest airport and Thiruvananthapuram Central Railway Station lying in the heart of the city is the closest railway station. Vellanad Devi Temple is in the close vicinity.
