Pattom



Pattom is a picturesque place situated between PMG Junction and Kesavadasapuram at Thiruvananthapuram in Kerala. Pattom is surrounded by offices, hospitals and schools. The major landmarks include Kerala Public Service Commission (PSC), State Resource Centre, Kendriya Vidyalaya, Vaidyuthi Bhavan, Pattom Palace, St Mary's High School and SUT Hospital. Pattom is the birth place of Pattom A Thanu Pillai, the second chief minister of Kerala. Numerous shrines such as Pattom Subhramanya Swamy Temple, Mahaganapaty Temple and St Mary's Church offer peace and tranquility amidst the urban chaos to the visitors. National Highway 47 passes through this place. Pattom is a major halting point for buses plying to and from Thiruvananthapuram Central Bus Station and City Bus Station ( East Fort Station). Trivandrum International Airport at Shanghumugham (7 km) and Thiruvananthapuram Central Railway Station are the nearest airport and railway station respectively.
