Ettumanoor is a fast developing town and a famous pilgrim site for Hindus and Christians alike. It is located 12 km north-east of Kottayam, in Kerala. Ettumanoor is a major center for rubber trade in the district. The town is about 160 km north of the state capital, Thiruvananthapuram.

Places of tourist interest include Ettumanoor Mahadeva Temple, Athirampuzha Church and Mannanam Church. An annual 10 day festival organized in the Shiva temple in (February-March) is a major draw, attended by devotees from across religious lines.

Head quarters of Mahatma Gandhi University (MG University), Kottayam Medical College and the only industrial estate in Kerala under the Ministry of Labor, Govt. of India are all situated in the vicinity.

Nearest airport is at Kochi (80 km). Ettumanoor railway station is on the Kottayam – Ernakulam line of the Southern Railways. There are two bus stations – one owned by the KSRTC and the other, a private bus stand - both located at the town center. The M C Road (Main Central Road) passes through Ettumanoor.
