Mattupetty is 13 km away from
Munnar at an elevation of 1700 m above the sea level. The Indo-Swiss livestock project carried out here has reared some of the best hybrid varieties of cattle in the world. There are about eleven cattle sheds at the farm out of which three are open for the visitors. Just a short drive from the farm is the Mattupetty lake and dam which is a beautiful picnic spot; and the boat cruises (speed launch, slow speedboat and motorboats) along the dam are quite popular.The extensive Kundala tea plantations and the
Kundala lake are other attractions in the vicinity.
