Anchal is situated 13 km south of
Punalur in
Kollam District,
Kerala. The town is renowned for its cattle market held twice a month. Hundreds of farmers and businessmen attend this fair from all parts of the State. A Mudi festival celebrated at the Bhagavathy temple in Anchal is also quite famous. This is organized once in every twelve years.
