Erumeli

Erumeli, an ideal base camp to visit Sabarimala, is located 60 km from Kottayam and is 13 km south of Kanjirappally.

It is believed that Lord Ayyappa followed the path from Erumeli to Sabarimala. Along the Erumeli-Sabarimala route, there are shrines at Kalaketti, Inchipparakota, Karimala and Pampa.

The Petta Thullal during the Sabarimala festival season is a major event at Erumeli. Erumeli Mosque and Erumeli Sastha Temple are two famous shirnes at Erumeli.

Thiruvananthapuram is 150 km from Erumeli and Kochi is 78 km away. Chengannur Railway Station (62 km) is the nearest railway station.
