Vallarpadam is an island located west of Bolghatty Island in
Ernakulam District. It is about 3.5 km in length in the north-south direction. The Goshree bridges connect Vallarpadam and
Vypeen with the mainland at
Ernakulum.
St Mary’s Church is the main attraction of the Island. Vallarpadam Feast and Festival attracts many people in and around the place. Vypeen lighthouse and Bolghatty Palace are the nearby attractions.
Cochin International Airport is the nearest airport. The nearest railhead is Ernakulam Junction Railway Station.
Cochin Port is located on the southern side of Vallarpadam Island. The proposal for an International Container Transshipment Terminal (ICTT) at this place has been sanctioned by the Government.
