Cheruthoni Dam

Cheruthoni Dam, the largest concrete gravity dam in Kerala, is located close to Idukki Arch Dam. It is also the third highest dam in India. Built across the Periyar River, the dam attracts thousands of tourists. Visitors get splendid views of sunrise and sunset from here. With an altitude of about 3900 ft, Cheruthoni Dam is easily accessible from Idukki Wildlife Sanctuary. Constructed in 1976, Cheruthoni Dam is an ideal destination for nature lovers. Boating facilities are available between Cheruthoni and Kulamavu.
