Cherthala




Cherthala, also known as Shertallai, is situated on the National Highway 47 and is 50 km south of Kochi. Earlier known as Muttath, the town is renowned for the Karthyayini Devi temple and is a center of coir production in Kerala.

The famous village of Vayalar is on the suburbs of Cherthala. Thanneermukkom, famous for the Thanneermukkom Bund, is a nearby attraction.

Cherthala Railway Station ( Shertalai Railway Station) is on the ErnakulamAlappuzha line.
