Kadakkal




Kadakkal is an agricultural village in the eastern part of Kollam District. Numerous coconut trees and hillocks dotting its terrain add to the scenic bliss. Many social revolutionary activities were held in this place during the pre-independent period of India. The neighboring panchayats of Kadakkal are Chithara, Nilamel, Ittiva, Kummil and Chadayamangalam. It has a market which is regarded as one of the foremost spice trading centers in Kerala. Kadakkal Temple is a famous landmark here. There are good restaurants, national banks, government hospital and theaters at Kadakkal.
