Aluva




Aluva is a famous pilgrim centre situated 21 km from Kochi. The place is famous for its Shivratri festival. It is held on the banks of Periyar river, 25 km north-east of Kochi. A Shivalingam on the sand bank is the main attraction. Ulliyanoor temple is another attraction of this place. It is said that the temple was built by the legendary architect Perunthachan. Aluva is also renowned for its industries.
