Meenam

Meenam, when the sun enters the zodiac sign of Pisces, is the 8th month of the Malayalam Calendar. Literally 'Meenam' means 'fish.' This month starts by the middle of March and ends in the middle of April.

The Aarattu festival at the Sree Padmanabhaswamy Temple falls in this month. Bharani Festival at the Sarkara Devi Temple and Palakkunnu Shri Bhagavathy Temple Bharani Maholsavam are also celebrated in Meenam.
