Krishnarajapet, situated about 126 km south-west of Bangalore, is famous as the ‘Motherland of Hoysala temples'.

This steadily growing town in Mandya District has a large number of temples of Hoysala period. Among them, the 13th century Lakshminarayana temple with its exquisite carvings is well-known.

Pattabhirama Temple and Ramanatheshwar Temple at Ramanathapura, Bhrammeshwara Temple at Kikkeri and Badri Narayana Temple at Melkote are major shrines nearby.

Nearest railway station is at Mandya, which is 47 km away.
