Jamkhandi

Jamkhandi was the capital of the erstwhile princely state of the Patavardhans. Its formal name is Jambukandi which derives from the Jambukeshwara temple of this place. Places around are Rabkavi-Banhatti, Hosur, and Tampur. The temple of Kadapatti Basaveshwara, Jatra of Basaveshwara and a grand structure on the Ramatirth hillock are the major attractions. It is very famous for its hand-made sarees.
