Salal Dam and Lake is the site for the largest hydro electricity project in
Jammu and Kashmir. It is located 95 km from
Jammu to the west of the holy shrine of Vaishnodeviji.
The dam has an installed capacity of 400 mw of electricity. The lake formed due to the dam is stretched over a distance of 33 km. The site can be visited with the permission of the project authorities.
