Sufiana Music is one of the popular art forms in Jammu and Kashmir
. This art form came to the state from Iran around the 15th century and slowly established itself as the classical music form of the stae. The music was also incorporated a number of Indian Ragas in its body.
Sufiana Music is basically a mix of `bhajans' and `leelas', and `naats' and `manqabats'. Hafiz Nagma in fact, used to be the part of Sufiana Music. It is a dance form in which the dancer is a female who is accompanied with males on various instruments.
There are only a few families in Kashmir who are practicing Sufiana Music in Kashmir. Some of the prominent people in this music are Ustad Ghulam Mohd, Saznawaz and Ustad Abdul Ghani Namathali.
