Hiranagar



Hiranagar is a town located on the southern part of Kathua District in Jammu and Kashmir. One of the taluks of the district, Hiranagar is believed to have been founded by Raja Hari Singh.

Jasmergarh Fort, situated between Tarnah and Bein Nallahs, was also renovated by Hari Singh. This fort was the erstwhile home for the Government Offices till 1947. The town also has a fast developing Industrial Estate and a Modern Industrial Training Institute. Shri Anand Ashram at Suba Chak is another draw.

Hiranagar is accessible from Jammu, which is 70 km north. The nearest railway station is at Ghagwal and the airport is Jammu Airport.
