Anchar Lake




Anchar Lake is a large and charming lake near Srinagar. The Sindh Nallah enters this lake from one side and flows out from the other. The lake is about 8 km long and 3 km wide. A wide variety of water birds including Mallard, Pochard, Gadwall Snipe and Teal, dwell near the lake during winter. Gandarbal is a famous township on its north-west bank.
