Koklas




Koklas is a brown streaked pheasant with silver, dark green heads and a stiff crest. Female has a whitish throat patch and is duller than the male. The bird dwells in dense undergrowth of fir-spruce forests. It is also found in oak-deodar forests, between 2400 to 3100 m altitudes.

The bird can be seen in the Great Himalayan National Park, Himachal Pradesh.
