The town of Kotla is on the National Highway 20, between Nurpur and Shahpur, in Kangra District. It is in the upper region of the district, close to its border with Chamba District. Jawali is around 12 km south.
Bathu ki Larhi, a cluster of ancient temples which remain dipped in water for eight months, is the nearby tourist spot.
Gaggal Airport and Kangra Railway Station are the main access points.
