Chindi




Chindi is a little hamlet on a ridge of the Karsog Valley of the Himalayas, in Mandi District, Himachal Pradesh. This hill resort of Himachal tourism is admired for the spectacular view of the mountains and the surrounding dense forests of deodar and pine. The numerous apple orchards in this area provide added beauty to the spot.

There are several small temples in and around Chindi. Mahunag Temple (18 km), Mamleshwar Mahadev Temple (13 km), Kamaksha Devi Temple (19 km), Pangna Killa (8 km), and Shikari Devi temple (18 km) are a few.

Rugs and other handicrafts made at Chindi are in much tourist demand. Chindi, 104 km from Mandi, is easily approachable by road from Shimla, about 94 km away, via Tattapani. The temperature varies from –5 to 27 degree centigrade. Chindi can be visited at all times of the year except November-April.
