Golden Temple in Tabo

Golden Temple, also known as Serkhang, is one of the temples in Tabo Monastery, situated in Lahaul and Spiti District of Himachal Pradesh. It is believed that the temple was once layered with gold, hence the name. The walls and ceiling of the temple are exquisitely garnished with beautiful murals.

This magnificent shrine was exhaustively renovated by Senge Namgyal, ruler of Ladakh, in the 16th century.

The temple can be reached by bus from Kaza.
