Panchkula District




Panchkula District of Haryana covers an area of 898 sq km. It is bounded by Himachal Pradesh in the north and north-east, Ambala District in the east, Kurukshetra District in the south, and Punjab and Union Territory of Chandigarh in the West. Sub tropical continental monsoon climate is experienced in the region. Morni is the highest point of Haryana. The Ghaggar, Sirsa and Kaushalya are the major rivers flowing through Panchkula.

Panchakula has a mixed type of economy. Animal husbandry, forestry, and fishery support the economy along with agriculture. Major crops are wheat, gram, barley, oilseed, onion, and other winter vegetables. Mansa Devi Temple, Pinjore Gardens, Morni Hills, Kalka, and Urban Estate are the prominent attractions.
