Anandpur Sahib is situated on the left bank of the river Sutlej at a distance of nearly 41 km from Rupnagar and 75 km from Chandigarh. It was founded by the ninth Sikh Guru,
Guru Tegh Bahadur. It is surrounded by the Shivalik hills in the east and the Sutlej River in the west.
