Jungle Babbler

Doomni or Satbhai



Jungle Babbler (Turdoides striatus) is a very common breeding resident found near cultivated and wooded area of Haryana. Babblers are rangy, mid-sized, floppy-tailed land birds. The bird grows up to 25 cm in size. The Jungle Babbler is quite common in the dry forests of the Indian subcontinent. It is locally called Doomni or Satbhai.

It can be seen in the Narendrapur Wildlife Sanctuary, West Bengal.
