Yamunanagar




Yamunanagar is the district headquarters of Yamunanagar District in Haryana. The town and its twin town Jagadhri are located on the western part of Yamuna canal. Yamunanagar is about 200 km north of New Delhi.

The town has many large industries of plywood, paper, sugar and metal. Saraswati Sugar Mills, the biggest sugar mill in Asia, is located here. Major tourist attractions are Dadupur, Kalesar Wildlife Sanctuary, Devi Lal Herbal Nature Park, Hathni Kund and Tajewala Barrage.

The nearest international airport is at Delhi and Yamunanagar Railway Station is on the Saharanpur- Kurukshetra rail route. Chandigarh is around 70 km north-west of Yamunanagar.
