Unjha



Unjha, the seat of Kadva Patels, is in Mehsana District. The town has its origin in antiquity. There is a temple dedicated to Umia Mata, the family deity of Kadva Patels. It serves as a base for those who visit the Modhera temple.

Unjha is also famous for its ayurvedic pharmacy engaged in the manufacture of medicines. The biggest market yard of Unjha is engaged in the large transaction of jeera, oilseeds, cumin, variyali and isabgul. This little town is known for the marriage customs of the Kadvakanbis who live in this region. Large fairs are held here on Maha Sud and Vaisakh Sud.
