Dhumkal Sanctary is situated on the outskirts of
Bharuch, in
Bharuch District of
Gujarat. This sanctuary was established with a view to protect the Sloth Bear. This animal, native to the Indian subcontinent, has dwindled in its population in recent years owing to various reasons. This sanctuary also protects tiger and leopard.
Dhamkal sanctuary can be reached via Bharuch. Regular buses are available from Bharuch Bus Station. The nearest rail head is the Bharuch Junction railway station.
