Nagina Mosque

Also called Jewel Mosque

Nagina Mosque, a 15th century masjid at Champaner, about 47 km east of Vadodara, is built of pure white stones in Gujarati-Islamic blend of style. Being exquisitely carved, it is often called 'Jewel Mosque'.

The mosque is a mixture of Hindu and Muslim architecture, the lotus pattern beside the arches is typically Hindu style. There is a beautifully proportioned arcade, which has four columns on each side of the square beneath a central dome. A mausoleum decorated with beautiful ornaments is in the north-eastern corner of the mosque. Thousands of devotes from around the world visit the mosque.

The place Chambaner is well connected to Ahmedabad and Vadodara by road.
