Gopnath was once the summer home of Maharaja Krishna Kumar Singhji of Bhavnagar. It is an enduring destination because of its breathtaking seacoast adorned with spectacular limestone cliffs. This village attracts marine life enthusiasts, from around the globe, for the variety of marine life found in the rocky shoals on the coast.

Talja, a Jain temple spiraling on a 350-foot high volcanic hill, Alang, the world's largest ship breaking zone and Gopnath Mahadev Temple are worth visiting. Rajpara village in the vicinity has a beautiful white sanded beach.
