Barton Library and Museum, one of the oldest monuments in
Bhavnagar, is a favorite place for all age groups. The museum was established in 1895. Elderly people spend their time here reading newspapers, dailies and magazines. The museum houses old books, manuscripts, rare coins, arms and armours used by the rulers of Bhavnagar. Other collections include farming tools, beadwork, wood carvings, weapons, musical instruments and reminders of Mahatma Gandhi's period as a student of
Bhavnagar University.
