Igitun Chalne

A unique festival of Goa, Igitun Chalne is celebrated in the month of May. It is held at the Sirigao Temple in Bicholim, a major educational and cultural center in North Goa District.

This festival is dedicated to Goddess Lairaya. During the festival, devotees of Lairaya walk over hot coals to prove their devotion. This odd ritual attracts several tourists besides pilgrims.
