Kunbi Dance

The Kunbi tribe of Goa has its own indigenous dance. Though the members of this community have converted to Christianity, under the influence of the Portuguese colonial rule, they still maintain their centuries old non-Christian traditional dance.

This dance is meant solely for social occasions. It is performed by the women folk. The movements are fast yet graceful. The attire is colorful but simple, conforming to the tribe’s tradition.
