Gurdwara Bangla Sahib




Gurdwara Bangla Sahib, the bungalow of Raja Jai Singh of Jaipur, is the biggest Gurdwara in Delhi. Guru Harkishan, the eighth Sikh Guru had stayed here for few months as a guest of Raja Jai Singh. The Guru was known to be spiritual, righteous and fearless right from the tender age of five. Besides the Sikh community, this Gurdwara is frequented by devout Hindus and Muslims. The Gurdwara also has an art gallery, a library and a hospital. The Gurdwara is famous for its langar which literally means free community which is served to everyone irrespective of religion, caste or status. Devotees take home holy water from a small tank attached to the Gurdwara which has the power to cure various ailments.
