Durg is the administrative headquarters of
Durg District, in
Chhattisgarh. It is situated 29 km west of
Raipur.
Places of tourist interest include Maitribagh and Nagpura. Uwasaggaharam Parshwa Teerth, Deobalod, Tandula, Dhamdha and the Ganga Maiya Temple at Jhalmala constitute interesting excursions outside the town.
Nearest airport is at Raipur.
Durg Railway Station is on the Mumbai–Kolkata main line.
National Highway 6 passes through Durg.
