Mughal Sarai




Located on National Highway 2, Mughal Sarai in Chandauli District houses one of the prominent railway stations of Uttar Pradesh. It is around 16 km south-east of Varanasi.

‘Sarai’ is a Persian word meaning 'inn.' Literally Mughal Sarai means the 'Inn of Mughals’ and it was the halting place for the Mughal caravans.

Chandraprabha Wildlife Sanctuary (55 km) is the nearby attraction.

Chandauli is around 10 km east. Nearest airport is Varanasi Airport. Mughal Sarai Junction Railway Station is managed by the East Central Railways.
