Sage Kapila

Sage Kapila, the founder of the Sankhya philosophy, was one of the twelve revered teachers of the Bhagavad Gita, one of the sacred Hindu texts. He is said to have destroyed the sixty thousand odd sons of King Sagara with a glance. In the Puranas, he is identified as Lord Vishnu and sometimes Lord Agni, the god of fire.
