University of Hyderabad




Located about 20 km from Hyderabad city, the University of Hyderabad is a Central University and a premier institute for post-graduate education and research in India. The city campus of the University of Hyderabad, "The Golden Threshold," is named after the residence of Sarojini Naidu, and the Sarojini Naidu School is also located here.

Courses are conducted according to the semester pattern. The major institutions that come under the university include the School of Mathematics and Computer/Information Sciences, School of Physics, School of Social Sciences, Academic Staff College, Centre for Modelling, Simulation and Design, and Centre for Folk Culture Studies. Distance Education programs are offered in post-graduate courses such as computer science, project planning and management, environment studies, translation studies and human rights. The university has a well-equipped library.
