Hubli




An industrial town in Dharwad District of Karnataka, Hubli is 420 km north of Bangalore. Hubli and Dharwad (22 km east) form a twin city. Mumbai city is 550 km north of Hubli.

A part of the Vijayanagar Empire, it was earlier known as Raya Hubli and Elaya Puravada Halli. Hubli is major a trade and transportation center, with textile units, railway workshops and a newspaper industry.

Unkal Lake, Glass House and Siddarudh Math are places of interest. Hubli is also famous for the sweet peda.

Hubli Airport is 18 km away from the city center. Hubli Junction Railway Station is a major rail junction on the Southern Railway. National Highway 4 and 63 passes through Hubli.
