Domakonda Fort




Domakonda Fort at Domakonda was built by the Reddis of Domakonda Samsthanam in the 18th century. The fort stands on the edifice of another ancient fortification that existed in the same site. An arched gateway that welcomes visitors display the Asaf Jahi influence. Square and circular bastions guard the fort at irregular intervals. The fort houses two palaces and a temple complex. The temple exhibit Kakatiya style of architecture. Domakonda Fort survives as an excellent specimen of the defense mechanisms of the princely states of Telangana.

Damakonda is 50 km from Nizamabad and is 10 km from Kamareddy.
